This functionality is called Menu for Restaurants and Items for all other POS.

In both cases you can create as many items as you want and sort them by Categories and Sub-categories.

For example, for a restaurant, you may decide to create:

  1. 2 categories such as Food and Beverages;
  2. For the Food, 3 subcategories such as Entrées, Main Course and Desserts;
  3. For the Beverages, 2 subcategories such as Alcoholic and Non-alcoholic;
  4. And as many Items as necessary in each subcategory.

You should pay a special attention when entering the description of the items:

  1. Each item should be correctly allocated to a category and a subcategory;
  2. Its name should be the same as the one printed in the menu given to the guest, i.e. non-ambiguous and understandable for the waiter;
  3. The price field should be filled without tax;
  4. The tax field should be filled according to what has been entered in the Settings functionality. Depending on the country where your hotel/restaurant is located, the taxes on food and beverages are sometimes different. This feature is totally taken into account in PMShotelier. Just create first the different applicable taxes in the Settings functionality and allocate the correct one to each and every item of your menu. As a result, the final bill to the guest will display all the details of the tax calculation;
  5. The Place of Production field is working in tandem with the Staff functionality: the items of a given order will automatically be split and directed to the right Place of Production, i.e. to the right person according to his/her profile defined in the Staff functionality.
